Land Acknowledgement
At Northwest Firestarters, we humbly acknowledge that we operate on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Blackfoot Confederacy, which includes the Siksika, Kainai, and Piikani Nations, as well as the Tsuu T'ina Nation and the Stoney Nakoda. We honor the deep and enduring relationship that Indigenous peoples have with this land, a connection that spans thousands of years and encompasses rich cultural practices, languages, and traditions.
We recognize that this land has been a source of life, sustenance, and inspiration for generations. As a company rooted in family and the joy of spending time outdoors, we share in the understanding that nature is a precious gift that deserves our respect and protection. This acknowledgment is not just a statement; it reflects our commitment to honor the stewardship of those who have cared for this land long before us.
Our mission at Northwest Firestarters is to provide eco-friendly fire starters that enhance the outdoor experiences of families and friends. In doing so, we are guided by values that emphasize stewardship, sustainability, and community responsibility. We believe that our love for nature should inspire us to take meaningful actions that promote the health of our environment and support the legacy of Indigenous peoples.
Through our initiatives, such as partnering with One Tree Planted to support reforestation and committing to carbon offsets, we strive to contribute to a healthier planet. We are dedicated to reducing our carbon footprint and ensuring that future generations can enjoy the natural beauty of this land, just as we do today.
As we continue on this journey, we invite our customers and community members to join us in honoring the land and its original stewards. Together, we can foster a deeper understanding of our shared responsibilities and work toward a sustainable future that respects and uplifts the voices and traditions of Indigenous peoples.
Thank you for being a part of our community and for supporting our mission to protect the environment for all.
